Poverty, lack of parental care lead us to prostitution – Underage prostitutes

Some of the prostitutes operating at Adufet Suits Hotel in Oshodi have declared that poverty, bad association as well as lack of parental care were some of the factors that led most of them into prostitution.


One of them who pleaded anonymity disclosed to ECHONEWS that they always target the internet scammers popularly called yahoo guys whenever they visited their point to make big money.


The prostitute,15, said most of them involving in the act were within the age bracket of 13 and 19 years, saying poverty and bad association led many of them into the illegal and immoral job.

She added that lack of parental care also led some of the underage girls into the business as some of their parents are poor or have abandoned them at tender age.


According to her, the small girls flocked the Adufet Suits Hotel at Agbalaya Street Charity, Oshodi whenever yahoo boys were around.


She further stated that the business work in network form because they contacted one another with phone calls from Oshodi, Isolo, Ejigbo and Mushin to block their clients in the hotel rooms.


“The girls assemble here to showcase their selling points and cut their share from the Yahoo boy’s big hits,’ she said.

When asked whether she could quit the business for another legal job, she said she was not sure as she didn’t know if she could make a living from any other thing apart from prostitution.
